Jo is a paralegal advising TSP’s clients on Personal Injury claims. She joined TSP in 2006.

Jo, who is a local girl, attended school in Colchester. She began her legal career in the late 90s working as a legal secretary in the Corporate and Litigation departments of a number of well-established firms. She joined TSP as a Legal Secretary in the Clinical Negligence team and developed her career, becoming a paralegal, specialising in Personal Injury, in 2007. She has experience of numerous and varied Personal Injury cases and a wealth of knowledge in dealing with Personal Injury claims. She advises on a variety of Personal Injury matters including accidents at work (Employers’ Liability), road traffic accidents, trips and slips, and accidents in public areas (Public and Occupiers’ Liability).

The Legal 500: In 2018/19 the Thompson Smith and Puxon Personal Injury team was once again recommended by the Legal 500 and ranked amongst the best firms in the South East of England in this practice area. The Legal 500 said “Thompson Smith and Puxon is ‘a top firm for personal injury claims in this geographical area and beyond’; its ‘competent and pleasant’ personal injury team provides ‘excellent service’. The lawyers cover claims involving road traffic accidents, employment liability, trips and slips, defective products and accidents on private premises. Special expertise exists in work environment diseases, repetitive strain injuries and psychiatric shock matters. Clients recommend ‘experienced and sensible’ partner Steve Webb, associate solicitor Clare Sheeran and solicitor Sam Welham, all of whom are considered ‘hardworking’.”

In her spare time Jo enjoys running, sewing and spending time with her family.

Jo says “I find PI very rewarding and the different types of injuries clients have experienced make every day different. Although compensation cannot heal a person’s injury or change what has happened to them, I find it satisfying knowing that I have helped to make their future slightly brighter.”
