How can we help you?
We offer a professional, holistic and approachable service to all our clients. We are frequently complimented on how accessible we are to our clients and for the way that we work closely with surveyors, accountants and other advisers to make sure that our clients get the best result.
At Thompson Smith and Puxon, we continue to be fully committed to the interests of the industry. We are keen advocates, supporting British farming and the region’s farming infrastructure. Our solicitors follow the food and farming consultations that impact on our farming and landowning clients.
We assist clients across Essex and Suffolk but geography is no issue. If you farm in East Anglia or even slightly further afield, we would be pleased to hear from you.
Our areas of expertise
We can help you with all legal aspects of land ownership, including farm and land sales and purchases, farm tenancies, diversification, commercial tenancies, financial arrangements, agri-environmental schemes, development land and options, and renewable energy arrangements. We have extensive experience in this sector of:
- Acquisition and disposals of estates, farms, properties and land;
- Agricultural tenancies and land use;
- Farm partnerships and joint venture management agreements;
- Renewable energy and farm diversification projects– including energy generation schemes (Solar and Wind Farms, AD); BNG, Forestry and Agri-environmental schemes;
- Specialist agricultural property advice, including sporting rights, mineral rights, restrictive covenants, easements, regional infrastructure projects and compulsory acquisition.
Our Fees
Once we have a full understanding of the work which needs to be carried out, we will provide an estimate of costs. Where this is not possible at the outset, we will provide an estimate for initial work and liaise with you to agree further costs when the extent of eventual work required has been identified taking account of your practical requirements and objectives. Our aim is to support you by offering advice at a cost effective price.
