TSP Shortlisted for LawNet Law Firm of the Year | Thompson Smith and Puxon
Thompson Smith and Puxon has been named one of four finalists for the LawNet Law Firm of the Year, up to £8 million turnover, in the LawNet Awards 2026/27.
The award looks at the progress a firm has made over the previous 12 to 18 months. TSP's submission highlighted the changes taking place across the firm through TSP2030, the long-term strategy for strengthening and modernising TSP while remaining proudly independent and rooted in the communities we serve across Essex and Suffolk.
TSP2030 has been shaped by colleagues from across different teams, roles and offices, with people across the firm contributing to discussions about what we value, what we want to protect and where we want to develop. Those conversations are now translating into meaningful changes across the business.
Over the last 18 months, TSP has grown significantly and organically, with lawyer numbers increasing from 30 at the start of 2025 to 47 by mid-2026. That growth has strengthened expertise and capacity across the firm, helping us support more clients while creating new opportunities for our people.
Alongside this growth, TSP has continued to invest in the future of the firm. This has included developing clearer career and leadership pathways, supporting trainees and future lawyers, strengthening Professional Standards, investing in new technology and systems, and improving our working environments. TSP also converted to Thompson Smith and Puxon LLP in May 2026 and substantially completed the refurbishment of its Clacton office during the year.
Providing an excellent client experience has remained at the heart of these changes. Client feedback has remained strong as the firm has grown, while TSP continues to look at how it can provide an even more consistent experience for clients across the firm.
The shortlist reflects a collective effort from colleagues across TSP. Some have led major projects, while others have supported growing teams, trained and supervised colleagues, welcomed new people into the firm, taken on new responsibilities or simply ensured clients continued to receive a high standard of service while change was taking place around them.
Commenting on the achievement, CEO Sean Stuttaford said:
“What I like most about this recognition is that it belongs to people right across TSP. A great deal of work has gone into growing and strengthening the firm, much of it quietly in the background, while colleagues have continued looking after clients and supporting each other. Being one of the final three is a very welcome acknowledgement of that collective effort.”
TSP remains focused on strengthening its independent regional model while retaining the relationships, local knowledge and personal service that clients and colleagues value.
The winner will be announced at the LawNet Annual Conference later this year.
