TSP Chief Executive Sean Stuttaford Marks 25 Years with the Firm

Thompson Smith and Puxon (TSP) is celebrating a significant milestone as Chief Executive Officer Sean Stuttaford marks 25 years with the firm.

For a quarter of a century, Sean has been part of TSP's development from a traditional high street practice into the modern firm it is today, while the firm has remained closely connected to the communities it serves across Essex and Suffolk.

Sean joined TSP in 2001 as an IT Manager and has since progressed through a number of senior leadership roles, becoming Chief Executive Officer in January 2024. His career has developed alongside a period of major change in both TSP and the wider legal sector.

Over that time, Sean has worked across technology, operations and business management, contributing to the firm's investment in systems, service standards and people development as TSP has continued to evolve.

Sean's commitment to the local community extends beyond his role at TSP. He is a Colchester Ambassador and as part of that role, he has also served on the Rural England Prosperity Fund (REPF) panel for Colchester City Council, helping to assess applications for grants supporting local businesses, community organisations and projects across the area. Both roles reflect his involvement in supporting Colchester's continued economic and community development.

TSP continues to support local charities, community organisations, businesses and individuals across Essex and Suffolk. The firm remains actively involved in community initiatives, sponsorships and fundraising activities alongside the delivery of legal advice.

Today, Sean leads TSP2030, the firm's long-term strategy focused on transforming with purpose, succeeding as one and prospering together. At its heart is a commitment to creating opportunities for employees, delivering excellent client service and maintaining the firm's strong connection with the communities it serves.

Reflecting on his 25-year milestone, Sean said:

"When I joined TSP in 2001, I could never have imagined that 25 years later I would still be here, let alone as Chief Executive Officer. The firm has changed enormously in that time, but the thing that has kept me here has not changed: the people.

I have been very fortunate to work with some brilliant colleagues over the years and to be part of a firm so closely connected to the communities it serves. TSP has grown and changed, but it has retained much of what makes people want to work here and stay here. I suppose after 25 years I am reasonable evidence of that.

It has been a genuine privilege to be part of the firm's story, and I am looking forward to seeing where we take it next."

Mary Anne Fedyko, Senior Partner at TSP, said:

"Sean has made a significant contribution to TSP over 25 years and has helped the firm navigate substantial change, always with a focus on our people, our clients and our communities.

He has helped ensure the firm continues to move forward while retaining the values that have been at the heart of TSP for generations.

We are very grateful for his contribution and pleased to celebrate this milestone with him."

Alongside his role at TSP, Sean also serves as a Director of LawNet, helping independent law firms across the UK share knowledge, raise standards and deliver the best possible service to their clients.
