Thompson Smith and Puxon appoint specialist Commercial Dispute Resolution Director
Thompson Smith and Puxon is pleased to announce the appointment of Bushra Elzubeir as a Director in the firm’s Dispute Resolution team. This senior appointment caps a busy period for the team which recently welcomed Newly Qualified solicitor Anisa Khan, as it increases its resource to meet the growing demand for complex litigation work. Bushra’s strategic appointment will further enhance TSP’s full-service offering and enable the firm to better support its commercial clients.
Bushra will assume his new role alongside team leader and experienced litigator, Director Andrew Breckenridge, who has over the course of his 30 year career, dealt with a range of complex litigation and disputes. The Dispute Resolution team also comprises Senior Associate and contentious probate specialist Katie Latham, Senior Associate Laura-Pauline Adcock-Jones who specialises in commercial and property disputes as well as NQ Anisa. The team deals with high-level commercial and civil litigation disputes, supporting individuals and businesses alike by drawing on expertise from across the team’s 50+ years of combined experience.
Commercial Dispute Resolution specialist Bushra, brings nearly 20 years of experience to the role. Bushra qualified in 2007 having previously worked as in-house legal counsel with an international asset financing company before turning to private practice. He now joins TSP from a leading regional firm, having worked across London and the southeast over the last two decades.
Bushra has advised a broad range of companies in the manufacturing and retail space and boasts expertise on a variety of dispute resolutions issues, including:
- Complex breaches of contract
- Fraud and asset recovery
- Cross border disputes
- Contractual and regulatory issues
- Professional negligence
- Construction
Bushra has specialist expertise in advising regulated individuals, including doctors, dentists, nurses, accountants and solicitors on regulatory and disciplinary issues. He also has experience of advising commercial entities on audit and compliance-related matters.
Having grown up in the Middle East, Bushra is also fluent Arabic speaker. Once a semi-professional footballer, he now focuses on assisting sportspeople from a legal standpoint.
