TSP’s Strength and Depth Highlighted in 2020 Legal 500 Results

Thompson Smith and Puxon (TSP) are pleased to report continued recommendations in seven practice areas in the Legal 500 rankings. Once again, directors Mary Anne Fedeyko, Fiona Ashworth and Jolyon Berry are highlighted as Leading Individuals and Kerry Addison a Next Generation Partner. Wills & Estates specialists, Aileen Hirst, Robert Ashworth and Sarah White retain their Rising Stars ranking and a further ten lawyers are recommended in their respective practice areas.

TSP’s Corporate and Commercial team is once again rated in the top three in Colchester. Clients are “dealt with in a clear, easy to understand and professional way” and team leader, Mary Anne Fedeyko, is “dynamic and transmits her energy and enthusiasm” to all. Mary Anne is also noted for her “expertise in agribusiness” and the team has a “particular expertise in the agricultural sphere to rival any of the leading agricultural lawyers in the area”.

TSP is also separately recommended as amongst the best in the South East region of the UK for its Agriculture and Estates practice. “Practice head Stephen Firmin has expertise in strategic land planning, property portfolios, and the acquisition and disposal of high-value farming estates”and “Kerry Addison comes highly recommended.” Both are Fellows of the Agricultural Law Association and also recommended for their Commercial Property work.

The Wills and Estates team also has a “unique depth of understanding of farming families” with team leader, Fiona Ashworth, noted as “a specialist in the agricultural sector”and fellow Wills & Estates director, Robert Ashworth recommended “for succession planning, with an emphasis on farming clients”.  Agriculture aside the Wills and Estates team is noted as being “diverse and knowledgeable” and providing “a first class service to their clients”.  

Standout” Employment specialist, Jolyon Berry, is “able to explain the complexities of employment law in a clear and concise manner”. Jolyon’s “highly professionalEmployment team retains its Top Tier in Essex rating in 2020 and is recommended for the “highest standard” of advice delivered in a “timely” manner. According to one testimonial Jolyon understands “the commercial and operational implications to the business” and “confidently explores and explains the options available, without using too much legal jargon, whilst advising on any potential risks.

Tenant disputes, defamation and contentious probate are all handled by the Dispute Resolution team led by “trained mediator” Sharon Auton who is “efficient, prepared and exceptionally well-versed in the subject matter.” 

Also recommended as amongst the best in the South East is the TSP Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence team, led by director, Steve Webb, “which handles a mixture of both complex medical work and serious personal injury matters”  and are “unstinting in their efforts to support their clients.
