Thompson Smith and Puxon Appoints New Partner

Leading Essex Law firm Thompson Smith and Puxon (TSP) is pleased to announce the appointment of Kerry Addison Ltd as a new partner in the firm. Kerry Addison, the director of Kerry Addison Ltd, has worked at TSP in the Commercial Property and Agriculture team since November 2015. The appointment brings the number of partners in this growing firm to eleven.

Kerry was born in Portsmouth, a Navy child, but moved to Suffolk as a teenager, attending Ipswich High School. On leaving school Kerry joined an Ipswich Law firm as a trainee Legal Executive, and was admitted as a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives in 1997.  In 2001, having taken a short career break, Kerry decided to train as a solicitor, undertaking a Post Graduate Diploma in Law at De Montfort University Leicester and then a Diploma in Legal Practice at Nottingham Law School, passing both with a commendation.

Kerry says “During my 20 year career in the Law I have worked in a number of practice areas including private client and residential property before becoming what I like to describe as a “Rural” lawyer. I really enjoy the work that I do now, particularly building relationships with clients during the course of long-term development projects.”

Kerry, who is a member of the Agricultural Law Association, undertakes all types of general commercial property work, but specialises in development and planning, rural matters for farmers and landowners (such as promotion and option agreements), and property portfolios and refinancing.

TSP Senior Partner, Mary Anne Fedeyko, says “Continuing to grow and develop our agribusiness is very important to TSP. The repositioning of the firm over a number of years has meant that we have been able to attract experts, such as Kerry, in this area.  On behalf of the Directors and staff at TSP I am delighted to welcome Kerry Addison Ltd to the partnership. Kerry’s experience and expertise as a rural lawyer has already proved to be a great asset to the firm and I am sure the firm’s agribusiness will continue to go from strength to strength.”

Kerry adds “I am really pleased to become, through my company, a partner in Thompson Smith and Puxon.  TSP has long-standing and strong relationships with the rural community in Essex and the surrounding counties.  I am keen to ensure that we continue to develop our agricultural client base and look forward to assisting with the ongoing development of the firm.”
