Sarah, who qualified as a solicitor in 2009, is supervised by Fiona Ashworth. She joined the TSP Wills and Estates team in May 2014. Based in our Clacton office, Sarah advises clients on their Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney and estate administration. Sarah, who is also a full accredited member of Solicitors for the Elderly (SFE), was appointed as an associate solicitor in October 2016.

Sarah, who grew up in Colchester, attended Philip Morant College before taking her degree in Law and Human Rights with honours at the University of Essex. She went on to pass her Legal Practice Course at the College of Law in York and since her qualification she has worked on a broad range of private client matters.

Thompson Smith and Puxon has, for a number of years, been highlighted by the Legal 500 as a Leading Firm in this practice area and Sarah is a Legal 500 Recommended Lawyer. In 2018/19 the Legal 500 said:

“The ‘thorough, efficient and reliable’ private client department at Thompson Smith and Puxon ‘exhibits a high degree of professional experience and capability’ with ‘a caring and considerate side’ and a willingness to ‘go the extra mile’ in order to ‘provide a comprehensive and timely service’. Focus areas include will preparation, probate, trusts, tax and succession planning, registering enduring powers of attorney, and Court of Protection matters, as well as asset preservation relating to long-term residential or nursing care requirements. A large proportion of clients have a business or agricultural background. ‘Sharp-minded, sympathetic and hardworking’ Fiona Ashworth, who ‘has a wealth of experience’, leads the practice from the Colchester office and is a main contact for elderly and farming clients. In October 2017, ‘friendly and persevering’ Robert Ashworth and ‘conscientious, sympathetic and efficient’ Aileen Hirst, who ‘has a practical grasp of problems and solutions’, joined Clacton-based Sarah White at associate level. Clients further recommend ‘exceptionally professional and caring’ solicitor Adina Milleare.”

In 2018/19 Sarah was also noted as a Legal 500 Next Generation Lawyer. In 2017 The Legal 500 said “Clients describe Thompson Smith and Puxon’s private client department as ‘approachable, efficient, knowledgeable and empathetic’, ‘working well as a strong team’ and having ‘impressive dedication to the client’. Sarah White, who became an associate in 2016, ‘maintains good communication’ with clients and is ‘extremely resourceful and very committed’.

When time allows Sarah enjoys skiing and snowboarding; she is also a very keen seamstress. Sarah said “I find it interesting to learn about people’s personal circumstances and to help them prepare for the unknown. In particular I enjoy assisting clients in the preparation of their Wills to ensure their assets pass on as they had intended.”
