Kim Huggins, clinical negligence Solicitor, joined TSP’s Clincal Negligence and Personal Injury team in July 2023 and is based in our Colchester office. She works with head of department Steve Webb and advises clients on all aspects of their clinical negligence claims.

Kim, who qualified as a solicitor in 2011 from University of Law, London, has in-excess of 20 years’ pre and post qualification experience in personal injury and clinical negligence, including heading up and developing a now thriving and reputable clinical negligence department in a Greater London firm before moving to a City Law Firm and thereafter to TSP. In Modern Law Awards 2023, Kim Huggins was shortlisted for Lawyer of the Year. Kim’s pursuit of law and specialism in clinical negligence sits dear to her heart. Following a delayed diagnosis of a family member until too late, Kim strives to prevent others from similar feelings of hopelessness and unnecessary loss.

In her spare time, Kim fully embraces life. She loves to travel and takes on new challenges whenever possible. A lot of Kim’s activities are in aid of charities as well as for her own pleasure. These so far have included triathlons, lengthy open water swims, abseiling, zip lining, climbing Snowdon, and most recently training to run London Landmarks Half Marathon in aid of British Heart Foundation.

“I am passionate about Clinical Negligence; from seeking justice for my clients and ensuring that they have bespoke care and treatment packages required to assist them long after the claim is over, to holding the NHS and private providers accountable and desperately trying to invoke change to stop avoidable events from happening. I have been in the position that my clients are in so I know first-hand how awful and stressful it feels to not only adapt to a new way of life following an incident/injury/loss but also to take that extra step of pursuing a claim against such well protected institutions. Compassion, care and understanding are fundamental in this area of work, and in all areas of life. They are core values of mine which I’m proud to say are values that are also shared by TSP, which is why I love working here”.
