The ambulance service is the first point of call for many entering NHS healthcare. Paramedics are often required to make important decisions about a patient’s treatment and care and, in the main, this is carried out effectively by competent professionals. Occasionally, however, things go wrong and signs and symptoms of a more serious condition than the one that at first presents are overlooked.
