After just over 37 years service at TSP, Agriculture and Commercial Property specialist, Graham Wilson has retired from the practice.
Graham joined Thompson Smith and Puxon as a trainee and qualified as a solicitor in 1978. He became a partner of TSP in 1980 and in 2007, when the structure of the firm changed he became a director of M. Graham Wilson Ltd, a corporate partner in the firm, retiring from the partnership at the end of 2013. A Fellow of the Agricultural Law Association, Graham then took the role of Consultant solicitor, and continued to advise the firm’s substantial portfolio of agricultural clients in connection with property, as well as related tax and commercial questions.
In his retirement Graham aims to continue to sit as a Deputy District Judge and as a Judge of the First-tier Property Tribunal which determines leasehold property disputes.
Graham says “I have greatly enjoyed my time at TSP, and I know that most of all I shall miss the companionship of the people with whom I have worked. I am leaving TSP in its impressive new building. I wish the firm the very best for the future.”
The Directors of TSP hosted a retirement party for Graham and his colleague Kathy Rogers at the firm’s Colchester office. Kathy, who first joined the firm just over 30 years, is retiring at the same time. The TSP directors presented Graham with a new laptop and Kathy with Amazon vouchers and a bouquet. Tony Coppock, who has been with the firm almost as long as Graham and Kathy, said “Kathy has been a splendid and supportive colleague.”
Julian Wilson, Finance Director at TSP said “Graham has been a stalwart of our Agriculture and Commercial Property team for many years and has made a huge contribution to the firm. We will all miss his cheerfulness and good humour in the office. We wish both him and Kathy a long and happy retirement.”
