The firm is pleased to announce that three of our solicitors have been invited to become Associates of Thompson Smith and Puxon (TSP). Two of the three, Sarah White, Wills and Estates solicitor, and Carly Callaghan, Residential Property solicitor, are based in our Clacton office and the third, Shelley Cumbers, Family and Divorce Law solicitor, is based in our Colchester office.

The Thompson Smith and Puxon Associates programme is now in its second year and Sarah, Carly and Shelley join Kerry Addison, Clare Sheeran and Laura Finnigan as Thompson Smith and Puxon Associates. The programme is designed to identify those who are seen as potential leaders of the future and it is offered to individuals who have been with the firm for at least two years and who demonstrate a number of key qualities including

  • A thorough understanding of and high degree of competence in the area of law in which they specialise
  • Excellent client care
  • Good social, communication and inter-personal skills
  • The potential to manage people, projects and portfolios

HR Director Richard Porter said “On behalf of the directors and staff at TSP I would like to extend our warmest congratulations to all three on their well deserved appointments. We are very fortunate to have some extremely able people in the firm and see our Associates programme as a positive development in creating a transparent and successful career ladder within TSP.”

Managing Partner Steve Webb added “As part of our five year strategy plan we set ourselves a target of having five TSP Associates in place by the end of 2016, so it is very pleasing to have exceeded our target in this area; not only that, but we are also fortunate to have some further potential “rising stars”, as we like to call them, from whom our 2017 cohort of Associates will no doubt be chosen.
