On 16 April 2020, Companies House temporarily suspended the voluntary DS01 strike off policy to support creditors affected by COVID-19. Consequently, when a company makes a DS01 application to be struck off, Companies House will publish a notice in the Gazette in accordance with its usual process. However, with a view to protecting creditors who may wish to object to the company being struck-off it will suspend any further action to dissolve the company. Companies House have also stated that although it will continue to notify companies who have failed to file annual accounts or confirmation statements, it will not publish a notice in the Gazette indicating its intention to strike off the company from the Register.
These changes do not apply to businesses being dissolved under, or which are subject to a restructuring process involving, insolvency procedures, such as administration or liquidation.
