Mediation Awareness Week UK is a charity which was established in May 2016 to raise awareness of and to promote the benefits of mediation across all aspects of dispute resolution in the UK. This year UK Mediation Awareness Week is taking place between Saturday 8 October and Friday 14 October.

According to the www.mediationawarenessweek.org.uk  website the “mediation of disputes can provide solutions which meet the needs of all parties, cost much less than litigation, are dealt with more speedily, avoid disruption to business, remove the debilitating effects of conflict and can restore professional and personal relationships.”

Thompson Smith and Puxon, which has two accredited mediators, Mary Anne Fedeyko and Sharon Auton, will be supporting UK Mediation Awareness week through a series of interviews and articles on the benefits of dispute resolution through the use of mediation.

UK Mediation Awareness week is being supported and promoted by the Civil Mediation Council, of which Mary Anne and Sharon are members, and by many other mediation groups. It is hoped that this week will “increase awareness of the practical and financial benefits of mediation across all sectors of business and private life in which conflicts and dispute can occur.”
