On Sunday 29 March 2015, Colchester Colne Round Table, in association with Headway Essex, will be hosting its fifth annual Colchester Half Marathon. The runners will set off at 9:00am from the Weston Homes Community Stadium with the 21.097km course taking them through Colchester Town Centre and onto the North of Colchester via Langham before coming back to the stadium.

Thompson Smith and Puxon is pleased and very proud to report that Clare Sheeran will be donning her running shoes and taking part on the day in aid of Breakthrough Breast Cancer.

For Clare, who is a solicitor in the Personal Injury team, this will be her first half marathon. She has been training for a few months now, in between her parenting duties, and hopes to complete the race in under two and a half hours.

The charity Clare has chosen, Breakthrough Breast Cancer, aims to stop breast cancer for good by improving early diagnosis, developing new treatments and preventing all types of breast cancer. Clare says ‘Breast Cancer is something that has affected my family significantly. My Mum was initially diagnosed with the disease over 34 years ago and has continued to fight it on and off over the years. Sadly, two and a half years ago it returned and this time has spread to other organs. She continues to fight and has the best care provided to her from an incredible Consultant who works tirelessly with Breakthrough Breast Cancer to improve treatments and keep patients, including my Mum, alive, and with some quality of life for longer’.
