Thompson Smith and Puxon (TSP) was delighted to be invited to sponsor the Junior Schools Choir Competition held recently by the Colchester Forum Rotary Club.
Choirs from nine local primary schools battled it out in two heats to reach the grand final held on the evening of Tuesday 14 October 2014 at Heathlands C of E Primary School in West Bergholt. Each choir was required to sing “This Little Light of Mine” by Derek Jones, and a second piece of their own choice.
The local schools reaching the final, which was judged by an independent panel of three, were
- Heathlands C of E Primary School – Choir Leader, Sarah White
- King’s Ford Junior school – Choir Leader, Hannah Smith
- Bishop William Ward C of E Primary School – Choir Leader, Nikki Davis
- Montgomery Junior School – Choir leader, Nicola Summers
The choir from Bishop William Ward School led by Nikki Davis were deservedly victorious on the evening. Richard Porter, TSP Director, Head of the Employment team, and member of the Colchester Forum Rotary Club, attended the final and presented the trophy (pictured) and certificates on the evening. He was ably assisted by TSP Family Law Solicitor Shelley Cumbers who was pleased to attend the event hosted in her local Primary School.
TSP would like to thank Alan Rustage of the Colchester Forum Rotary Club Youth Committee for organising such an excellent event. We hope that this will now become an annual competition and would be pleased to be able to support it again in the future.
