Leading Essex law firm Thompson Smith and Puxon (TSP) is pleased to announce the appointment of Laura Finnigan Ltd as a new partner in the firm. Laura Finnigan, the director of Laura Finnigan Ltd, joined TSP in November 2011 and leads the Residential Property team.
Laura, who is local to the Colchester area, completed her training at a London law firm and has specialised in residential property (conveyancing) matters since her qualification. Whilst working in London Laura accumulated a wealth of experience dealing with the London residential property market, acting for a range of clients, both international and London based, in medium to high value fast-paced property transactions. On joining TSP in 2011 Laura transferred her first-rate city law firm skills to the East Anglian property market and has continued to negotiate the best contract terms for her clients.
Laura says “Conveyancing is, in most cases, fast–paced and can, at times, be quite stressful for the client. I enjoy taking the stress out of the situation for them; I’m used to dealing with property transactions that have to be completed to very tight timescales and have worked on many transactions that are “out-of-the-ordinary” and require specialist advice. As a team we pride ourselves on the fact that a qualified lawyer takes care of the transaction for the client, and we ensure that each client is treated as an individual. The bottom line for me though is that there is a real buzz in helping clients move into their dream home.”
TSP Senior Partner, Mary Anne Fedeyko, adds “Since joining us in 2011, Laura has built the TSP Residential Property team into an extremely well-regarded and experienced team of 12. Her appointment is thoroughly deserved and, on behalf of the Directors and staff at TSP, I am delighted to welcome Laura Finnigan Ltd to the partnership. Laura’s experience and expertise as a residential property lawyer has already proved to be a great asset to the firm and I am sure that the team, under her continued stewardship, will continue to flourish.”
Laura adds “I am really pleased to become, through my company, a partner in Thompson Smith and Puxon. I am keen to ensure that we continue to grow and develop our Residential Property services for our clients and look forward to assisting with the on-going development of the firm.”
Laura’s Residential Property team is a member of the Law Society’s Conveyancing Quality Scheme, introduced in 2010 to promote standards in residential conveyancing. Thompson Smith and Puxon gained the accreditation in 2012 and has successfully renewed it every year since then. The accreditation enables consumers to recognise practices which have achieved appropriate standards of competency, conduct and ability in carrying out conveyancing transactions.
