Thompson Smith and Puxon (TSP) recently joined forces with Jackson-Stops and Reeman Dansie Auctioneers to host a wonderful Reindeer Cocktail Party in the auction room at Reeman Dansie. The highlight of this special event was a guest appearance from Santa, being pulled on his sleigh by reindeer from the Cairngorm Reindeer Centre.
The St Helena Hospice Room To Care Appeal
The event, in aid of the St Helena Hospice Room to Care Appeal, raised the fantastic sum of £3,000 (including gift aid) .
Jacky Budenberg, who chairs the Room to Care Appeal, said ” The St Helena Hospice Room to Care appeal has got off to a cracking start . We have so far raised £1.6m of our £3.2m target.
Currently too many people wait too long to get admitted to The Hospice and some don’t even make it. When we reach our target we will be able to provide five additional state of the art palliative care bedrooms, a much needed refurbishment of the existing inpatient unit and more car parking spaces. North Essex has grown exponentially over the 35 years since St Helena Hospice opened. In order for our doctors, nurses and volunteers to continue to provide our community with the incredible care they give we need your help.”
If you haven’t already donated but would like to there is still time – you can visit the Reindeer our Virgin Money Giving page here.

The Cairngorm Reindeer Herd
The Cairngorm Reindeer Herd is Britain’s only free-ranging herd of reindeer found in the Cairngorm mountains in Scotland. There are currently around 150 reindeer in the herd, mostly ranging on the Cairngorm Mountains. Reindeer have lived in the Cairngorms National Park since 1952, where the herd is permitted to graze on over 10,000 acres.
Mikel Utsi and his wife Dr. Ethel Lindgren were the co-founders of the Reindeer Company and introduced reindeer into the Cairngorms back in 1952. The reindeer are now owned by Adam and Elizabeth Smith who purchased the herd in 1988.
