Workshop for Residential Landlords and Property Managers

Date: 28 April 2016
Time: 4.00pm - 6.00pm
Location: Thompson Smith and Puxon, Stable 6, Stable Road, Colchester, Essex, CO2 7GL

The Thompson Smith and Puxon (TSP) Dispute Resolution team and the Fenn Wright Residential Lettings team invite you to attend a workshop for Residential Landlords and Property Managers.

The team from Fenn Wright Residential Lettings will discuss current market conditions. From an investment perspective the East of England has been named one of the top property investor hotspots. Towns in the region dominate the top 10 places where landlords get the highest total return on investment outside of London, with most hotspots located in Essex.

It is also very important that landlords and property managers keep up to date with the ever-changing landlord and tenant law. The teams from Fenn Wright and Thompson Smith and Puxon (TSP) will discuss some of the recent changes in legislation that landlords and property managers need to be aware of.

The Fenn Wright team will discuss

  • Right to Rent
  • new smoke and carbon monoxide alarm rules

The Thompson Smith and Puxon team will discuss

  • The new law for residential landlords introduced in October 2015
  • Lease Extensions

As an owner of a leasehold property it is important to keep a close eye on the length of term remaining on the lease and to take steps to make sure the value of the asset does not waste away.

Sharon Auton, Chartered Legal Executive and Dispute Resolution Team Leader, and Judith Winward, Solicitor, both from TSP will speak. Biographies and more information on their topics can be downloaded here.

Joseph Hall, Associate Partner and Head of Business Development for Lettings, will speak for Fenn Wright. More information about Joe and his Lettings Team can be downloaded by clicking here.

This is a free to attend event. Numbers are limited to 18 to ensure the workshop remains informal and there is ample opportunity to exchange experiences and ideas. Early booking is therefore recommended. Bookings can be made online by filling in the booking form to the right of this page or by emailing
