Twenty-one local business people attended the latest in a series of seminars on employment law held by local solicitors Thompson Smith & Puxon, which has offices in Clacton and Colchester.

The event, held at the Kingscliff Hotel in Holland-on-Sea, was led by Richard Porter, the firm’s Head of Employment Law and solicitor Sam Welham, who gave tips on handling the effects of the credit crunch and advice for employers to follow for redundancies and reorganisation. There was also an update on recent changes to the law including new requirements on employment disputes.

“It was terrific to see so many local business people, who were able to discuss their areas of concern in a relaxed and informal atmosphere,” said Richard Porter.
