CLAXTON IN TRAINING FOR WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS

The fastest British women’s hurdler, Colchester’s Sarah Claxton, is preparing for the athletics World Championships which take place in Helsinki this August. Sarah took a break from her training last week (20 May) to help launch a new Website for local solicitors Thompson Smith & Puxon who have backed her with financial support since before the Olympics in 2004.

LEGAL TEAM MAKE IT HAPPEN FOR YOUNG MBO ENTREPRENEURS

‘dhgraphics’, a design and printing company established for over twenty one years in Colchester, has changed ownership after a management buyout by two of its senior employees. New owners Simon Prosser and Geoff Durkin completed their purchase from founder of the company, David Holland at the beginning of the month (3 May). They received legal advice from solicitors Thompson Smith & Puxon, who helped co-ordinate the deal.

TS&P HELPS WRAP UP MAJOR DEAL

Thompson Smith & Puxon have helped a Global company to make a UK acquisition. They have advised a UK group member of Global aluminium foils and cling film manufacturer SP Metal SA on the acquisition of the Wraps division of Chilwood Ltd., based in Wigan, Lancashire. Chilwood is a highly respected and established manufacturing company. The acquisition marks the expansion of the SP Metal SA group's business in the UK.

OLYMPIC ATHLETE SUPPORT RENEWED BY TS&P

England’s new UK hurdles record holder, Sarah Claxton from Colchester, has received welcome ongoing financial support from local firm of solicitors Thompson, Smith & Puxon. Sponsorship of Sarah by Thompson Smith & Puxon began in July last year prior to the Olympics.

WHAT A "GRAPE" STORY

The Personal Injury team from Colchester Solicitors Thompson Smith & Puxon has helped a shopper who slipped on a grape and injured her back to win a claim for damages. Linda Haynes, 49, slipped on the grape in Marks & Spencer and in a case settled this week, has been awarded an undisclosed sum. Thompson Smith & Puxon arranged an amicable out of court settlement with the store and its insurers Royal & Sun Alliance.
