The strong reputation and expertise of Essex based law firm Thompson Smith & Puxon (TS&P) has again been recognised in this year’s edition of the Legal 500 guide to the profession.
TS&P received a number of ‘recommendations’ with the firm’s corporate and commercial team singled out for its involvement with foreign markets, including Canada and the US. The department, led by Mary Anne Fedeyko, has advised on a number of significant transactions during 2008, with a total deal value exceeding £30million.
Mary Anne Fedeyko, who has 24 years’ experience and particular technical expertise in large industry aquisitions and contracts, said: “The Legal 500 is the industry bible and to be recognised amongst the best firms in the region is extremely pleasing.”
The Legal 500 publishes a comprehensive list of firms across the world and makes recommendations on those which have performed particularly well in different sectors.
Head of litigation at TS&P Mark Cooksley, achieved a recommendation for the firm’s litigation services which were highlighted as among the best in the region. Mark has more than 30 years’ experience of civil litigation and sits as a Deputy District Judge.
TS&P’s employment team, led by Richard Porter, was also commended, particularly for its work in the accountancy and charities sectors. The team provides advice and guidance on all apsects of employment law for both employers and employees.
Further praise was given to TS&P’s family law team, particularly Marcus Price who deals with all aspects of family law including marriage and relationship breakdown, financial and property disputes, and issues involving children.
The firm’s probate team was commended for its long standing expertise in areas including will preparation, trust management and inheritance tax planning. Experienced consultant David Welham, who leads the team and has more than 30 years’ experience, also received a personal recommendation.
