September 2006 - It’s celebrations all round at Colchester and Clacton based solicitors Thompson Smith & Puxon following the news that firm has been awarded the Law Society’s prestigious Lexcel quality mark, which involved a rigorous external assessment.
President of The Law Society, Fiona Woolf, said “I am delighted that Thompson Smith & Puxon has achieved this important Law Society award. The firm has demonstrated a commitment to superior practice management and excellent client care.”
The requirements to meet the Lexcel standard are extremely demanding and a high level of staff commitment was required to achieve the award. The assessment covered 55 aspects of legal practice at Thompson Smith & Puxon including office administration, case management, risk assessment and financial management.
Mark Cooksley, Senior Solicitor at Thompson Smith & Puxon, said: “We are delighted the Law Society has recognised TS&P with this award. Working towards Lexcel involved a huge commitment from all our staff and the process has made us even more focused on providing the highest standards of service to our clients.”
Thompson Smith & Puxon is one of the largest and longest established law firms in Essex, with over 80 staff providing legal services to business and private clients and with specialist teams in commercial law and litigation, trust and estate management, residential and commercial conveyancing, medical negligence, personal injury and family services.
The Lexcel scheme was introduced by The Law Society in 1998 to provide customers with a standard to judge the quality of legal services.
