UK record holder and Colchester based athlete Sarah Claxton, the fastest British women’s hurdler, has helped her local sponsor, solicitors Thompson Smith & Puxon, to launch a new healthcare package by Westfield Health for employees.

“I would like to thank Thompson Smith & Puxon for their ongoing support of my training expenses and I’m delighted to help them launch this new healthcare scheme”, said Sarah Claxton, whose next major competitions include the World Indoor Athletics Championships and the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne in spring 2006.

The scheme chosen by Thompson Smith & Puxon was originally developed by provider Westfield Health in conjunction with the British Chambers of Commerce. It enables all employees to claim tax-free contributions towards everyday healthcare including specialist consultations and alternative health therapies such as chiropractic and acupuncture treatments. It also includes access to a free phone 24-hour health advice line.

Julian Wilson, Managing Partner at Thompson Smith & Puxon and leader of the Clinical Negligence Team, said:

”We’re pleased to be able to expand the range of benefits for our employees to include this new scheme, which will ensure that all eighty staff working at our offices in Colchester and Clacton can receive prompt access to the healthcare they need”.
